We're doing it alil different this week, not only do you get a song, but a video as well. This was shot back in 07 by Willy Dope for a film class. Gotta excuse the lighting but by attention to what the video is really saying.

Freddie Mac is the homie, so you know i had to show him some support. The track i've heard off this are kinda fire.

So The BET Awards Were Last Night...

There were more than enough negative comments to go around. So instead of adding to those...here's a few of my favorite moments from the night.

Travis Barker FTW!

REVIEW: Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen (Movie)

So I caught Transformers over the weekend and I gotta say I really enjoyed it.

A lot of people have been complaining that this one wasn’t as good as the first because there was entirely too much going on in the film and some of the plot gets “lost”. Another complaint that ive been reading a lot on the internets is that was too much, “potty humor” in the movie.

Now that’s were a differ, I guess I can see why Transformers purist would be upset, but im a sucker for “stupid comedy” I find it hilarious. Take the twin bots and the controversy behind them. Did I notice that they were ‘black”, couldn’t read, spoke in slang, had a gold tooth, etc….. Yes, yes I did. But I gotta say I still found them funny, sad on my part? Maybe.

Overall, is it a story-telling masterpiece, far from it. But it IS a great action movies and a terrific way to kick off the summer.

Spit-That Saturday: Par-City Cipher

Taken from our first performance (of many many many more to come) the other night. Melrose Gold behind the camera. Shout out to all the other performers that came out.

Last Night's Juan Ep With Special Guest...

Half of White Label attended the Live Juan Epstein the other night with Jim Jones, Buckshot, and of course Ciph and Rosenberg. Also in the building were members of Asher Roth's camp and the Rosenthals of ItsTheReal.

In this clip, Jones talks about him and Cam's beef and if they can "put all that aside". Afterwards, they go in Buckshots and Jim Jones average ummm.....consumption.

Spit-That Saturday: GiF!

Formally Prolif, GiF goes in (PAUSE) over a classic Gangstarr instrumental. Anti add 3.5 bars at the end.

REVIEW: The Proposal (Movie)

Im not that big on romantic comedies, but there wasn’t anything else showing at the time and Ryan Reynolds is a funny dude.

The Proposal stars Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock, who surprisingly make a great team together. Bullock plays a pushy boss who, in order to keep her US Visa, tells her boss that her and her assistant (Reynolds) are getting married. The two spend the weekend getting to know each other in Alaska for Reynolds’ Grandmothers birthday, learn more about each other, and ultimately fall in love with one another.

Although im not a fan of the genre, I did find this movie entertaining. Very funny in certain parts but would I recommend seeing it in theaters?, Prolly not, more of a Sunday afternoon movies if you ask me.

NYCThruMe - Miracle Shot

VIDEO: One Night To Live

One Night To Live/I Wonder HD from Melrose Gold on Vimeo.

In case you arent familar with Melrose Gold...he's know for doing extremely dope shit like this. This was captured (yes the entire video is pictures) 9/11 last year.

REVIEW: The Hangover (Movie)

Recently Prolif and I along with some of the fam went to catch "The Hangover" in theaters and i gotta say this is one of the funniest movies i've seen in a loooong time.

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha make a great comedic team together in the movie being that each character that they play are so vastly different from each other and cameos from Tyson and Mike Epps pushes this film over the top.

This has to be one of the most outrageous (in a good way) films i've ever seen and in my opinion the funniest part of this film comes DURING the films credits. One question i have though is, who let their baby take part of this movie?!?!? lmaooooo. Definitely a must see and a great way to start off the summer, so if you have plans of going to Vegas...lol dont get toooo carried away.

Advice For Aspiring Artist...

Via Pharrell Williams...

Makes alot of sense.

Not Wavy...

Max B got sentenced this morning on 9 of 11 counts for a botched robbery and murder that took place back in 2006. His lawyer has issued this statement.

“Max B would like to first thank all his family, friends and fans that have supported him throughout this trial. Please don’t give up on him at this point. Although the jury has spoken and Max has been convicted of felony murder, kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy a swift and successful appeal shall follow. It is inconceivable that a jury would convict Max under the facts presented by the State. Even Gina Conway the State’s own witness testified that Max knew nothing of a robbery.Ms. Conway, a jilted lover and proven liar, said so at the trial itself. Max said after the verdict was read that he is confident that justice will eventually be served and he will be free. Max intends to continue putting out music for his fans while the appeal process grinds along. Although shocked by the verdict, Max remained grateful.”

Damn kid...hold ya head

It's aiight Lebron, Lil Dez'll keep you company

It's only a matter of time before Lebron finally gets a ring...but I'm not in favor of him leaving Cleavland to do it...He IS Cleavland. And like Drew Carey used to sing every week "Cleavland ROCKS!" (Ohio....ohio....ohio)

Live and Direct - Summer Jam '09 Highlights

*Drake's got that KanYe dance down to a tee*

Now while i've never actually gone to a Summer Jam myself, from what I heard and what i gather through the internets, it's lost its luster over the past few years (Jay Bringing out MiJac, Jay going at everyone, Jay being Jay), nonetheless Summer Jam is still something epic and big for Hip-Hop. With this years being the last at Giants stadium, one has to wonder where will it take place at next year, maybe back at the Garden?

Death Of Autotune...

*And the rebirth of Jay-Z OVERHYPE*

Now i'll prolly be called a hater for this...but ummmm....that song really isnt anything Spectacular (No Homo). I mean its cool, i'll listen to it, the beat is ill...but really whats groundbreaking about it? People are just going apeshit about it (see Twitter) because its a new Jay-Z song.

Will it change anything...yes, im pretty sure alot of people will stop using autotune now that J Hova has proclaimed it dead. But really isnt this just a start of another trend? Some artist wont be stopping their use of the voice enhancer because they want to, more so because its not cool anymore...and i mean its a good thing yeah (I very much dislike autotune myself) but apart of me feels like its just continuing a cycle of people doing "whats in" as opposed to being creative with their music.

lol I just confused myself, i guess this is just an endless cycle...anyway

Follow Friday: RuthieDot & Jacquesmorels

*Double Feature*

I missed last week so i bring two this week.

First up is my homegirl Ruthie, the self procliamed "Sylvia Rhone of Onsmash.com". Ruth and I have known each other for over a year now (bet she doesnt even know that) and have become really good friends as of late.

Ruthie moderates the forums of Onsmash.com and also runs her own blog "The Pharcyde". Her love of hip hop music and culture definitely makes her one of the Dopest Females i know, make sure to check out her blog, and check her out on Twitter @RuthieDot , her constant bickering with her lil sister @rooox3 via tweet is sure to keep you laughing.

Moving along....

Jacques Morel is the owner of Jacquesmorel.com , a very cool blog that isnt your run of the mill hip-hop blog site.

What separates his site from others i've visited is that dude isnt afraid to give his honest opinion on people's music which is something i respect. Often people just nod they head and say "yeah it's cool" when they're either not really listening to the song or trying to save face.

Jacques has also giving Par-City some exposure which is something we all very much appreciate. So make sure you check out the blog and do yourself a favor and follow the homie on Twitter @Jacquesmorels (BTW, That #Hovsays shit has me ROTF).

So do your life a favor and...

FOLLOW THEM!!!
